BARRY MANILOW DONATES NEW YAMAHA PIANO ONCE MORE TO KICK OFF NEW MUSIC INSTRUMENT DRIVE FOR WESTBURY HIGH SCHOOL

Public Can Trade a New or Gently Used Musical Instrument for Free Tickets to Manilow’s September 14th Concert at NYCB LIVE, Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum

[Long Island —September xx, 2017] – Pop music icon Barry Manilow hopes others will once again follow his philanthropic lead as he brings his Manilow Music Project to Westbury High School in Long Island. The legendary singer/songwriter plans to donate a Yamaha piano to launch a local musical instrument drive. Anyone who donates a new or gently used musical instrument will receive 2 free tickets (valid for pre-selected seat locations on a first come first serve basis) for Manilow’s September 14th concert at NYCB Live, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Manilow Music Project has conducted musical instrument drives all over the country to assist local schools with their music programs.

“I’m thrilled to once again bring the gift of music to these kids,” added Manilow.

The Ticketmaster Box Office at the Coliseum will be the drop off point for the instrument drive now through September 14th. The instrument drop off location is open Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

“The Westbury School District is grateful to the Manilow Music Project and NYCB LIVE’s incredibly generous donation of musical instruments and a new Yamaha Piano to Westbury High School,” said Eudes S. Budhai, Westbury School District Superintendent of Schools. “This contribution serves as a way to help bolster our students’ musical talents while also supporting our District’s flourishing music and arts programs, giving future students the resources to excel. Our students will have a more comprehensive educational experience and a creative outlet for artistic expression because of this gracious act, and we look forward to seeing our students utilizing the new instruments in our upcoming concerts and school performances.”

The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope. It was formed as a grass roots organization to assist local charities and programs. Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
